Getting alerts via SMS
  • derrickderrick November 2010

Sms's are only sent out for reports that fall within the past 48 hours. If the reporter did not opt out of sending sms's and if your number has been confirmed and is valid on the system.

You can confirm your number by clicking on user in the menu and clicking on your phone number.

    Hi.

1.) On the main site: www.alertza.co.za, click on "alerts" (top left)

2.) In the search box, (top middle) Do a search for the area you want to receive alerts for, example: "randburg" and click the find button.

3.) On your right hand side, you should see a list of options to choose from. Click on any one of them.

That should move the map to the area your interested in.

4.) In the middle of your screen, you should also see an info window with the option to convert to an alert maker, click on that.

5.) From there you will need to enter some registration information and click next.

That will log you into the system and create your alert maker with a pre-set radius that you can adjust if need be. You can move your marker around by clicking on the maker and dragging it to your exact street name.

6.) You will need to confirm your sms number before your receive any alerts. The link will be available in your alert info window in blue.

Shout if you have any problems.

    Cheers
    Derrick
